TSLM-JVS FIRST GRADE LESSON PLANNER WEEK 35



JULES VERNE SCHOOL
“Transmedia Storytelling Learning Method”
Grade: First English
Week: 35
Monday, May 22nd,  2017

PROJECT:
-         Diferencias y similitudes culturales.
-         Alebrijes por la paz.

Propósito del año: No produzco basura / Genero paz y bienestar (KiVa).

Daily Routine:

       Kids put their material in the correct place and take out homework and pencil case to be ready (10 minutes).
       We say good morning, say the date, and talk about the weather. (5 minutes)
       We do brain gym and teacher communicates the objective of the day.
       Attendance report (5 minutes)

       Number dictation (5 minutes)

CURRICULAR AREAS:
       Language arts.
       Personal and social development. (Health and career)

ASPECT:
       Oral language.
       Career and development.

PLO´S
-         Follows 2-step instructions to demonstrate comprehension.
-         Describes own personal skills and interests.

TOPIC: Recognizing my own attributes.

ACADEMIC CONTENT:
-         Vocabulary.
-         Self knowledge.

OBJECTIVE: Kids recognize themselves as people that deserve love and respect.

FINAL PRODUCT: A complete simple sentence that includes an attribute.

EVALUATION:
-         Kids find at least one own attribute.
-         Kids follow the pattern sentence to communicate an idea.
-         Kids illustrate their sentence with a drawing of themselves.

RESOURCES: Vocabulary list, pencil cases.

Activities:
1.      Kids listen to the vocabulary list.
2.      Kids find the meaning of unknown words.
3.      Teacher gives a pattern sentence to be completed: “I deserve love and respect because I am…”
4.      Kids have  five minutes to think about their own attributes.
5.      Kids share in small groups the attributes they identified about themselves.
6.      Kids write complete the pattern sentence with the attribute that they identified.
7.      Kids make a drawing of themselves to illustrate their sentence.

TIME: 60 MINUTES.
HOMEWORK:
1.      Write 3 times blouse, skirt and dress with drawings.
2.      Draw a boy wearing a blue shirt, black shorts, white socks and red sneakers.

FINAL PRODUCT: Kids draw objects according to the book instructions.

EVALUATION:
-         Kids read aloud book instructions.
-         Kids follow instructions and draw objects in different positions.
-         Kids share their results.

RESOURCES: A chat between mother and her daughter that describes a mess in a bedroom.

Activities:
1.      Kids identify the pictures of different clothes.
2.      Kids say aloud the name of different objects.
3.      Teacher reads aloud the conversation between a mother and her daughter, that describes a messy bedroom.
4.      Kids listen the conversation and draw the objects according to it.
5.      Kids ask and answer the questions about the objects aloud.
6.      Kids write the answers using pattern sentences.
7.      Kids check spelling in their answers.

TIME: 60 MINUTES.
HOMEWORK:
Write 3 times shorts, pants and shirt with drawings.
Draw a girl wearing a red blouse, yellow skirt and blue sandals.
Repeat 3 dictation mistakes correctly.

ACADEMIC CONTENTS:

OBJECTIVE: Kids find different ways to create, reproduce and extend patterns.

FINAL PRODUCT: Kids create their own pattern.

EVALUATION:
1.      Kids identify the pattern unit in a sequence.
2.      Kids reproduce different patterns.
3.      Kids create patterns using different materials.

RESOURCES: Tokens, notebook, colors, 3-D objects and 2-D shapes.

Activities:
1.      Teacher moves in a sequence.
2.      Kids follow the movements.
3.      Kids should find the three movements that makes the sequence.
4.      Teacher explains that patterns are made of a pattern unit that repeats over and over and can be figures, colors, moves, etc.
5.      Kids take a sheet of paper with different figures in a sequence.
6.      Kids analyze the sequence and identify the pattern unit.
7.      Kids color the figures with three different colors, creating a new pattern.
8.      Kids switch patterns with a classmate and find the pattern unit.
9.      Kids work in pairs with an ipad in a patterns app.
10.  Kids explain how technology helped in the session.

TIME: 50 MINUTES.
HOMEWORK:
1.      Write 3 times coat, sweater and jacket with drawings.
2.      Draw a boy wearing a gray jacket, orange shorts, green socks and brown sneakers.
3.      Repeat 3 times dictation mistakes correctly.

OBJECTIVE: Kids use singular and plural.

FINAL PRODUCT: Complete simple sentences using "there is" and "there are".

EVALUATION:
1.      Kids use "there is" and "there are" in complete simple sentences.
2.      Kids explain when to use "there is" and "there are" and give an example.
3.      Kids follow instructions.

RESOURCES: Picture cards, colors, notebook.

Activities:
Kids take a picture card and identify what place is it (the forest, the beach, the park, etc.)
Kids identify what people are wearing in the picture.
Kids identify what objects are in the picture.
Kids take turns to describe pictures in small groups.
Kids imagine three different objects to add in the picture.
Kids say aloud the three objects, using there is or there are.
Kids write the complete simple sentences in notebook and illustrate.

TIEMPO: 50 MINUTES.
HOMEWORK:
1.      Repeat 3 times dictation mistakes correctly.
