TSLM-JVS PLANNER FIRST WEEK 29

Monday, March 27th, 2017

PROJECT:
-         Diferencias y similitudes culturales.
-         Alebrijes por la paz.

Propósito del año: No produzco basura / Genero paz y bienestar (KiVa).

Daily Routine:

       Kids put their material in the correct place and take out homework and pencil case to be ready (10 minutes).
       We say good morning, say the date, and talk about the weather. (5 minutes)
       We do brain gym and teacher communicates the objective of the day.
       Attendance report (5 minutes)

       Number dictation (5 minutes)

CURRICULAR AREAS:
       Language arts.
       Personal and social development. (Health and career).
       Social studies.

ASPECT:
       Oral language.
       Career and development.
       Skills and processes of social studies.

PLO´S
-         Follows 2-step instructions to demonstrate comprehension.
-         Demonstrates an understanding of appropriate ways to express feelings.
-         Presents information using oral or visual representations.

TOPIC: I know my emotions.

ACADEMIC CONTENT:
-         Vocabulary.
-         Self knowledge.

OBJECTIVE: Kids talk about their emotions.

FINAL PRODUCT: At the end of the session kids must identify situations that make kids feel happy, sad, and angry.

EVALUATION:
-         Kids listen carefully instructions and follow steps.
-         Kids identify their own emotions and what makes them feel them.
-         Kids present information using oral representation.

RESOURCES: Short stories about school situations.

Activities:
1. Teacher shows flash cards with different faces (happy, sad, angry).
2. Kids listen to a short story about a kid that has friends in school and scores every class goal.
3. Kids look for the flash card that they think is appropriate to that situation.
4. Kids listen to a short story about a kid that does not have any friend in school and no one wants to play with her / him.
5. Kids choose the flash card that they think is appropriate to that situation.
6. Kids listen to a short story about a kid that shares her material but no one seems to take care of it.
7. Kids choose the flash card that they think is appropriate to that situation.
8. Kids aks children to take a minute to identify situations that make them feel happy, sad and angry.
9. Kids should find appropriate ways to express their emotions, without bother others.
10. Kids present information using oral language.

TIME: 60 MINUTES.

HOMEWORK:
1. Complete sentences on pages 78 and 79.

FINAL PRODUCT: Kids list the adjectives they use as they describe a scene of a short story.

EVALUATION:
-         Kids listen carefully a grade-appropriate story.
-         Kids show appropriate vocabulary with their classmates during the session.
-         Kids use adjectives to describe a scene about the story.

RESOURCES: A short appropriate story for 1st grade kids.

Activities:
1.     Teacher introduces the book and shows the cover.
2.     Kids make predictions about the story.
3.     Teacher reads aloud and monitor kids attention by asking questions about the story.
4.     Kids listen to the story one more time and look at the illustrations.
5.     Kids choose their favorite part of the story and draw a picture about it.
6.     Kids list the adjectives they need to describe the scene.
7.     Kids present their work using as many adjectives as they can.
8.     Kids explain the use of adjectives in their work.
9.     Kids choose one work per table to share in facebook.

TIME: 60 MINUTES.

HOMEWORK:
 1.      Use adjectives to describe your favorite animal in notebook and illustrate.

       Numbers

OBJECTIVE: Kids use strategies for basic subtraction.

FINAL PRODUCT: Kids describe the strategy used for basic subtraction facts to 18.

EVALUATION:
       Kids counts backwards from 20 to 1.
       Kids share tokens with their classmates.
       Kids describe strategies for basic subtraction.

RESOURCES: enVision math website, projector, ipad, notebook.

Activities:
1.     Kids watch the enVision math video that introduces the topic.
2.     Kids read aloud the instructions projected on the board.
3.     Kids use the material on the table to find the solution of different operations.
4.     Kids share strategies they use to find solutions.
5.     Kids practice with enVision material projected on the board.
6.     Kids solves operations in notebook.

TIME: 50 MINUTES.

HOMEWROK:
1. Math practice in notebook.

       Kids use "there is" and "there are" in complete simple sentences.

RESOURCES: Colors, book.

Activities:
1.     Kids listen information about Canadian totems.
2.     Kids find similarities between totems and alebrijes.
3.     Kids work in pairs to describe totems and alebrijes.
4.     Kids use dough to make a totem and take a picture of it. (in pairs)
5.     Kids take a picture of totems and post them on facebook.
6.     Kids share similarities between totems and alebrijes with the picture.

TIEMPO: 50 MINUTES.
