PLANNER TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21st, 2017

PROJECT:
-         Diferencias y similitudes culturales.
-         Alebrijes por la paz.

Propósito del año: No produzco basura / Genero paz y bienestar (KiVa).

Daily Routine:

       Kids put their material in the correct place and take out homework and pencil case to be ready (10 minutes).
       We say good morning, say the date, and talk about the weather. (5 minutes)
       We do brain gym and teacher communicates the objective of the day.
       Attendance report (5 minutes)

       Number dictation (5 minutes)

CURRICULAR AREAS:
       Language arts.


       Personal and social development. (Health and career)
       World comprehension. (Social studies)

ASPECT:
       Reading and viewing.
       Healthy relationships.
       Skills and processes of social studies.

PLO´S
-         Reads and demonstrates comprehension of grade-appropriate literary texts.
-         Demonstrates an understanding of appropriate ways to express feelings.
-         Presents information using oral or visual representations.

TOPIC: Developing reading comprehension skills.

ACADEMIC CONTENT:
-         Vocabulary.
-         Reading comprehension skills.
-         Respect.

OBJECTIVE: Kids listen and stay focused on a story.

FINAL PRODUCT: Kids make and answer questions about the story they heard.

EVALUATION:
-         Kids make and answer questions about the story they read.
-         Kids show appropriate vocabulary with their classmates during the session.
-         Kids listen carefully the story and stay focus on it.

RESOURCES: A short appropriate story for 1st grade kids.

Before starting the session, kids will finish the Lexium evaluation, following the Monday steps and the same PLO's.

Activities:
1.      Teacher introduces the book and shows the cover.
2.      Kids make predictions about the story.
3.      Teacher reads aloud and monitor kids attention by encouraging kids to make predictions every time that teacher turns the page .
4.      Kids listen to the story one more time and look at the illustrations.
5.      Kids retell the story to show comprehension.
6.      Teacher models activity by asking some questions about the story (teacher may give a pattern with WH questions on the board).
7.      Kids work in pairs to ask one question about the story.
8.      Kids illustrate the question and share in facebook.

TIME: 60 MINUTES.

HOMEWORK:
1. Answer the questions about the story in your notebook, draw a picture of your answers.
2. Write 3 times key, king and kite, with drawings.
3. Read in English aloud, at least 10 minutes.

FINAL PRODUCT: At the end of the session kids will share which part of the text was more complicated for them.

EVALUATION:
-         Kids follow instructions carefully.
-         Kids stay focus on the text.
-         Kids explain what did they find more complicated to do.

RESOURCES: Lexium tests.

Activities:
1. Kids listen to the evaluator as s/he tells the instructions.
2. Kids get their tests and checks names and age.
3. Kids follow instructions of each item and have time to complete each part of the test.
4. Test will be divided in two parts because it's too exhaustive to be completed in one day.
5. Kids will give back the test to the evaluator.
6. Kids share in small groups what part of the test was more complicated.
7. One kid of each group will share with the class what they said about the test.
8. Teacher introduces new vocabulary list and kids copy the homework.

TIME: 60 MINUTES.

HOMEWORK:
1. Write 3 times jacket, jar and jump with drawings.
2. Math practice in notebook.
3. Read in English aloud.

OBJECTIVE: Kids share knowledge through short videos.

FINAL PRODUCT: Kids make a short video about counting by 2's, 5's and 10's. Use of "a" and "an" with singular nouns.

EVALUATION:
       Kids count by 2's, 5's and 10's to 100.
       Kids present information in visual representations.
       Kids shares connections made about positive and negative behaviors in relationships.

RESOURCES: Previous work, notebook, book, ipads, imovie or camera.

Activities:
1. Teacher divides the class in small groups.
2. Kids use their material and previous experiences to explain in a short video about the topics mentioned above.
3. Kids illustrate their ideas on a booklet in small groups.
4. Kids explain the drawings as they film the video.
5. Project the videos and share on Facebook. 

TIEMPO: 90 MINUTES

HOMEWORK:
1. Read in English aloud during at least 10 minutes.

5. Kids write 3 questions on the same page.
6. Kids complete the sentences on pages 40 and 41, unit 4.
7. Kids explain when to use "a" and "an" with singular nouns.

OBJECTIVE: Kids skip count by 10's forwards and backwards to 100.

FINAL PRODUCT: Numbers by 10's forwards and backwards written in Math notebook.

EVALUATION:
       Kids counts by 5´s and 10´s using tokens.
       Kids share tokens with their classmates.
       Kids count by 5's and 10's to 100.

RESOURCES: Tokens, notebook, school supplies.

Activities:
1. Kids find tokens on their tables.
2. Teacher explains that they have to share tokens in each table.
3. Kids make as many sets of ten as they can on each table.
4. Kids skip count by 5's using their tokens.
5. Kids relate counting by 5's with coins of 5 pesos.
6. Kids open their books on page 133 unit 4 and complete the number sequence.
7. During the session kids may have trouble to share the tokens, so they must find a solution and share with the class.
8. Kids write numbers by 5's in math notebook.

TIME: 50 MINUTES.

HOMEWROK:
1. Do page 100 of unit 4.
2. Math practice: Skip count by 2's, 5's and 10's in notebook.
3. Read in English aloud at least 10 minutes.
